thank. full.
November 27, 2008

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite. For many years we had an abundance of people over to imbibe except last year I was a giant pregnant lady so I waddled over to my neighbor’s house instead. This year we are off to Minneapolis to visit my rents. We actually leave in like eight hours and my stuff is still strewn all about. And here I sit famously procrastinating the packing and kissing my animals goodbye. In my adult life I have actually missed more planes than I can count on one hand.

Can’t wait for my mom’s specialties including but not limited to 12-hour marinated green beans, shrimp cocktail, stuffing with apples, pie oh pie and, of course, turkey. And just regular ole good times with all us chickens together in a warm house with bug’s giggles and a few cocktails to keep us entertained.

So much to be thankful for right now. And I start to think of a list that includes things like my camera and computer and lipstick and my town and my job and gorgeous mountains sprinkled with snow this morning…but it all just whittles down to my family, friends and animals. I am especially grateful for the little human my man and I created, born last December, who just brings me so much joy I could bust right open.

An online magazine whose editors apparently read my stuff asked me to contribute to a little What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving? thingy. So click here to read my witty answer.

I am also thankful for this forum where I get to write things and throw it out there on the interweb. So, thank you for reading. Wishing you a day full of love and good food.

Congrats on the Bloom.alicious post. Funny how the other two women were all about the end-product moment and you were all about the soulful, dirty-hands beginning. Dig it.

Happy Thanksgiving to bugs, animals, et al.

Love to your parents.

it’s late. i’m burned out from working on other people’s photos when all i want to do is work on my own stuff. so, three beers in, trying to pull myself out of this crazy funk i’m in, i’m here to visit again. and it’s like a little rope, pulling me out of the funk. this last picture of bug on this post…i just stopped and stared. i love her cheeks and her eyes and her perfect roundness. already looking forward to meeting her…cuz i know she’s gunna be sweet.
