hello spring

Well, look what I woke to this morning. Sweet little nugget of bliss.

The air smells of sage and then hens are each laying one perfect egg a day. Bulbs and tubers are yawning up through the blanket of pine cones and leaves. Flip flops? Won’t be long. happy equinox.

Lovely! I noticed my one crocus blooming the other day. I planted 300 bulbs the first year we moved in and those damn chipmunks ate all but one. It has been blooming religiously for the past 7 years though.

  2. What a gorgeous crocus! I love the bright yellow.
There is nothing better than eggs from your own chickens. They always taste better than store bought.

We have crocuses up and daffodils aren’t far behind—just need another day or two of solid sun. Spring!

    Yay! Hi Crocus!

Even in CA with our super short winters, I’m ever so glad to see these guys in the spring.

Because, yes, that means flip-flops are on the horizon. And tomatoes. And shorts. And beach days. And and and…

    Happy spring to you.
