I am super excited to be contributing to mamalode, a magazine and website for the whole mother. As in women who seek a whole life and holy moly, the whole mother (in case you didn’t pick up on that clever double entendre.)

It’s quite different from the cheesy parenting zines out there. No how-tos. No judgement. Elke Govertsen, the creator who appropriately calls herself the magazine’s curator, says we don’t lean left or right, just on each other. I am so honored to be writing and photographing alongside Missoula women who are inspiring, creative, passionate and accomplished. Lucky me.

So, my first essay:

Father’s Day started with an early trip to the grocery store, my 18 month-old in her pjs, to fetch items for the papa-requested breakfast burritos. Actually the day had officially started an hour prior when the three of us, plus three furry mammals whose collective body mass competed with ours in the small bed, spooned and giggled our way into Sunday…click here to read the rest…

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I love the visual; even without the photo I could see it.

The pee image is so hilarious. These littles are so perceptive and spongelike when it comes to us mamas . . . so much wisdom from them! xo

Your article makes me burst with pride, such a gift your writing is Burb……I have a vivid visual of the whole crazy cooking, bath, naked, running, Alice, flour, wooden floor and pee scene!! You are so right, it is the simple stuff.

AND sweet Margot you are the center of it all.

    xoxo, Mom/Gram

Although I have no children (of whom I am aware anyway) your article totally rocked. I realize that I am somewhat prejudiced by knowing and being incredibly fond of all the characters in the story but still…

Your article is great. I love seeing the moments happening before my eyes, because your writing totally takes me there. But what I love most, is how you are such a real, down to earth person, with an enlightened aura surrounding you. You are not condescending at all, and totally relatable, and well… I wish I was there with you, because surely I would too be blessed by your aura. So thanks, it is fantastic, and really excited for you and this new writing gig…
