my red lips
March 15, 2010

Do you have a simple, small act that, when done, makes you feel better? A little somethin’ somethin’ that adds a spring to your step and a sparkle to your eye?

For me, that little thing is red lipstick. And I wrote about it in this week’s mama digs. Click here to read my red lips.

And, if inclined, leave a comment telling me what your small thing is. The thing you do that’s just for you.

I SO wish I could pull off the red lipstick. On you, it says “pulled together”. Refined. That there is Woman inside this Mommy.

For me? I just look like Bozo.

love it. and love those gorgeous photos of you!

for me it’s my 90 minute yoga class with my favorite teacher, a reiki session, a spa pedicure. that’s 3 thinks, but they work for me! xo

things, not thinks, of course. i am home with avi and he’s jumping on me, which i love, but makes for fun typos . . . “whatchu doing mommy?” . . .

color-coordinated bra and panties. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it makes me feel better.

Not everyone can get away with RED LIPS like you can Burb! On you they look beautiful.

I don’t usually do red, but definitely lip colour makes me feel all dressed up…even if it’s only my face. πŸ™‚

I have to wash and blow dry my hair everyday. It takes me only 5 minutes to blow it out but even if I’m cruising around in a big old sweatshirt and track pants, I at least feel like a human being.

Oh, and a sweep of Bobbi Brown shimmer brick. πŸ˜‰

You definitely pull off the red lipstick! You have beautiful skin by the way!

For me, I’d say a little eye-liner. I don’t have to put on any other make-up and I feel ready to dash out the door. I guess I feel that my eyes are my best feature…so if I define them in one way shape or form, then I’m at least a little put together.

love your reason for the red lipstick. that is the best part of all – just for you.

For me it’s Kiehl’s products. Their olive fruit shampoo and conditioner are truly miraculous.

I can’t rock lipstick (vaseline has always been my sidekick) but I do indulge in some curled eyelashes with a single coat of mascara. It makes me feel like I look more coherent than I really am! That and always wearing some fun dangly earrings.

i am so with you on the lipstick front. though in my old age i seem to have moved into alba colored chapstick over traditional lipstick. lipstick is for when i’m really going big.

love you and your beautiful face!

Those red lips suit you well beautiful. My thing would be sneaking chcolate in the kitchen, or car, and not sharing with anyone.

You’re gorgeous! Mine is perfume! Ugh, I am a serious BPAL/Conjure/random oil fan. Also, peppermint patties. πŸ™‚

Putting on mascara! I rarely wear make-up, but every once and a while I put on some mascara – wow – I love it.

I splurge on a french perfume called “Fracas”. I do not spend much money on myself so this is a splurge for me. We have an Aveda shop here, I am going to look for your color as I really admire your colorful lips. I like your red cupids, “and everything”. You have a cool retro, vintage 40’s look with those lips. Classy.

I’m betting Aveda sees a bump in sales of said lip color. πŸ™‚ You look gorgeous!
I splurge on Lush bath bombs, Aveda lip glosses and Origins eye cream. I can go two or three days without brushing my hair, but always dab on a bit of lip gloss (however, I think it’s because I can’t stand chapped lips). πŸ˜‰

Good for you! I love it (and wish I could pull off lipstick…maybe some Burt’s Bees shimmery stuff?). My thing lately is 90 luxuriously sweaty minutes of yoga, Le Petit pastries and an Americano on Fridays, and literally just washing my hair (it’s a process). Go, mama go!

Okay, none of those things that I just posted are ‘simple, small acts.’ So…my pot of tea that I continually make all day long…that’s just for me.

You know what! I picked up red lipstick the other day at the store.. totally inspired by you. Completely.
I opened it in the car and painted my lips and INSTANTLY felt beautiful. I got a thought in my head to send each and everyone of my friends a tube.. then I passed it back to Maisy in the backseat. She yelled, “really!!??”

I said yep.. put it on. What a smile.. all the way home in my rearview mirror, my little girl and her red lips.
Alright.. I am writing an essay here! I just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration and making two girlies down the road feel pretty πŸ™‚
P.S.
We didn’t find out what we are having. I have something for you too!!

One little thing (or maybe not so little) that puts a spring in my step is Italian leather shoes. If I have them on, I am transformed into my version of Bridget/Audrey/Jackie. If the snow is too deep for leather shoe outings, and it often is, I go for a really great piece of jewelry.

Earrings. If I manage to put on a pair of unique, fun earrings that (sometimes) complements whatever I’ve managed to put on, I feel like I’m more put together and not the clichΓ©d, spit-up stained, sleep deprived, whacked out mama that you talked about a couple of years ago…

Yes, we are so alike. I too loved my aveda lipstick, more orange than red, but makes me feel beautiful. Now, that they don’t make it anymore, I have a similar color from Clarins. xox

P.s. I have missed my regular “dig”…. life has got me busy busy with weedy work.

Over the years, Breitling Navitimer has adapted its design and is now considered by many people, myself included, technicians Clock be complete in its range. Superocean shares design features with other Breitling Avenger , things like the classic three sub-dials, one for recording the second sub, at intervals of 10 minutes and a quadrant of 3-hour interval. For the technically minded, the movement of an Chrono Superocean and the housing has a diameter of 43.7 mm and 17.1 mm thick.

Christian Louboutin Sale was born in France in the year 1963. The majority of his present day collection is electrified from the designs he used to make in his schooldays. A Paris poster advertisement that instructed woman tourists to maintain the wooden floor in front of the Museum of Oceanic Art and not to make any scratches was the main inspiration for Christian Louboutin Pumps to become a shoe designer. He opened up a designer Christian Louboutin Sandals shoes boutique in Paris and began off his pro career. This boutique shop gained enormous popularity and gathered instant fame. At this present day the whole range of Christian Louboutin Boots from Oriental to Georgian has become the planet’s most well liked and known designer shoes.

One of the best things about Coach Wallets is that it has many factory outlets. These Coach Luggage outlets include purses made for the outlet as well as those from the showroom. All of these purses are high quality and offer a great value for your money, as they come with much lower price tags. Coach Madison is not a handbag designer that sticks to a formula. Many different Coach Ergo exist, and range from the brown and beige original style to more wild trends.
